and the week begins…

i know you are dying to know how my weekend went! haha
actually i had a really great weekend and it was great to see my friend eddy from spain (there was about 2 seconds of strangeness). i got to meet one of his friends from his days at umaine, who nows lives in boston. she is so nice. now i have a new friend! i love how that happens.
i hope you had a great weekend. unfortunately, it is now the beginning of another week, which means more homework. :/ thankfully, this weekend wasn’t that bad. i think i am starting to get a hang of the work load. now i have a better idea how long projects are going to take me so i can plan better. it’s is wonderful. it means a lot less stress for me. i don’t seem to have too much work yet for this week (knock on wood), but it is only monday.
most people hate mondays. one of my favorite bands Tegan and Sara (listen to them if you don’t know who they are!! they’ve been one of my favs since my freshman year in high school!) has a song called “monday monday monday” and of course there’s that famous line from office space, “someone’s got a case of the mondays!” honestly, though, i don’t really mind mondays that much. i am not saying that they are my favorite day of the week, but i actually think sundays are worse. you live in anticipation of monday on sunday, and you’re usually stuck doing homework (and maybe some laundry) all day (unless you’re really on top of things and do it all earlier in the weekend… which usually i am not). sundays are not very fun.
but mondays, they aren’t too bad if you just accept them as what they are. though, now, i kind of have something to look forward to on mondays. my best friend commutes to boston from worcester twice a week. monday is her lighter day so we have time to hang out and catch up after we get out of class! we are both big fans of coffee (she’s colombian… enough said. haha) so we decided to try out a different cafe every monday. and by cafe, i don’t mean starbucks; i mean a real cute, original cafe that is preferably less expensive than starbucks. today we went to one called Cafe Vanille, a little french cafe on charles st. it has a cute little patio where you can sit outside. they also have a whole bunch of pastries and sandwiches to choose from! it was really delicious. i totally recommend going if you’re ever in the area.
i’ll try to remember to tell you the cafes we go to every week. well, only if they are worthy of being mentioned, i guess. there’s no point in recommending an icky cafe! but i am hoping we don’t come across any gross cafes. actually, if there is anything that i encounter and really like, i’ll definitely mention it in this blog so that you can go out there, find it, and hopefully, like it as well!
