Suffolk Resources

Center for Teaching & Scholarly Excellence (CTSE). Located on the 12th floor of 73 Tremont St., CTSE was founded to ensure that Suffolk University delivers its goal of providing quality education through outstanding teaching. To achieve this goal, the Center provides services to faculty, administrators, units, and schools such as consultations, classroom observations, midterm feedback, and curriculum design/redesign.   Contact: ctse@suffolk.edu or Director Rachel Plews, Rachel.plews@suffolk.edu.  

Center for Student Diversity & Inclusion. Located in Room 828 at 8 Ashburton Pl, the Center provides individual support, mentoring, referrals, and education to foster a welcoming, safe, and inclusive environment for all students – giving special attention to historically marginalized students and their allies. Facilitates discussions and programs with students that promote the principles of equity, inclusion, access, and social justice. Collaborates with campus partners, such as Student Affairs, the Division of Student Success, Counseling, Health & Wellness, Disability Services, and theInterfaith Center. Contact: diversity@suffolk.edu or Director Beatriz Patiño, bpatino@suffolk.

Division of Student Affairs. Located on the 12th floor of 73 Tremont St., Student Affairs coordinates all functions of life at Suffolk University, including student involvement in campus organizations, athletics, orientation, residence life, conduct processes, and commencement. In sum, Student Affairs is a conduit students can use to access resources and aid. Departments within student affairs include Counseling, Health & Wellness, Suffolk CARES, Interfaith/Religious Life, Orientation, New Student & Family Programs, Performing Arts, Center for Community Engagement, Leadership Opportunities, Athletics, and the Center for Student Diversity and Inclusion. Contact: studentaffairs@suffolk.edu. 

Division of Student Success. Located on the 9th floor of 73 Tremont St., the Division of Student Success offers individualized support and opportunities for students to develop critical skills for the classroom and beyond. Each resource works independently and collaboratively to empower students to reach their full academic, professional, and personal potential.   • Academic Advising Services. An academic advisor’s goal at Suffolk University is to guide students through their academic journey. This is accomplished by productive conversations and helping design a plan that incorporates students’ academic, personal, and extra-curricular goals.  Contact: academicadvising@suffolk.edu 
  • Academic Success Services. Provides quality academic support services that ease students’ transition to college, strengthen their commitment to learning, and encourage their persistence to graduation. Services include in-person and online tutoring, academic coaching, and academic skills workshops.   Contact: clas@suffolk.edu or Call 617-573-8034. 
  • Career Services. Career-Readiness is at the heart of Suffolk’s mission, and the Career Center is here to help students prepare for and enjoy professional success. Students can make one-on-one appointments with a career counselor, and attend career center events Contact: careers@suffolk.edu 

Office of Disability Services (ODS). Committed to ensuring that students with disabilities have equal, effective, and meaningful access to all programs and opportunities at Suffolk University. With a student-centered approach, ODS fosters self-advocacy and self-determination, and promotes awareness that disability is an element of diversity.  Contact: disabilityservices@suffolk.edu. 

Study Abroad. At Suffolk, students in all majors have the opportunity to study abroad. Students can choose from approved programs in 30 different countries on six continents with options to spend a week, a summer, a semester, or a whole year expanding their academic, personal and professional horizons.  Contact: studyabroad@suffolk.edu. 

Moakley Archive and Institute. Located on the third floor of the Sawyer Library, the Moakley Archive and Institute supports Suffolk University’s academic mission and operational needs through reference assistance, classroom instruction, records management, and public programming. This includes potential access to digital collections, the Moakley Archive Catalogue, and opportunities such as research grants Contact: archives@suffolk.edu or Director Julia Collins Howington, jhowington@suffolk.edu. 

Office of Research & Sponsored Programs (ORSP). Located on the 13th floor of 73 Tremont St., ORSP provides Suffolk University’s faculty, staff, and students with comprehensive guidance and support in their pursuit and conduct of research and scholarly activities. Assistance includes pre-award services, such as identifying resources and funding sources for research and sponsored projects, research compliance, and education, training and outreach programs. Suffolk CARES. Located on the 12th floor of 73 Tremont St., Suffolk CARES works collaboratively with students and their families, faculty, staff and other campus resources to provide support for students through a variety of challenges they may encounter while at Suffolk. Students, or faculty and staff members, who are facing personal or academic issues that interfere with them being successful can be anonymously referred to the program.
