For the analysis paper 2, I would like to conduct two interviews with my friend, Carmen (not her real name). Carmen and I have been good friends since the first year in junior school, so we are quite closed to each other. Now she is 23 years old, and she studies Hotel Management in University of Washington. She did her bachelor degree in China, and she came to United States in September, 2012.
I chose her for my interview is because of three reasons. First, she is a Chinese, and now by studying in United Stated, she intends to extend her stay. Second, she is a lesbian, which is not really common in China. Last but not least, we use same language and share same culture background, so I can understand her easily.
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the population of Chinese immigrants numbered approximately 3.8 million by 2011. The Chinese American community is the largest overseas Chinese community in North America, closely followed by the Chinese communities in Canada and Mexico
If it is possible, can you find data about the # of gay and lesbian people in China? While you can focus on both differences (international student and lesbian), try to focus on one in your paper and make the second difference more axillary.
