The character that I am choosing is Dee Reynolds from the comedy sitcom “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia”. The show is about five people ( Mac, Charlie,Dennis, Dee, and Frank) who own a bar together in Philadelphia, and the various antics and situations they get themselves into in each episode over the six seasons that this show has been in existence.
My significance for writing this to explore this widely popular sitcom’s gender roles, gender stereotyping and biases, and more specifically, the role of Dee Reynolds. Dee is the only main female character on the show, so there are many differences that she faces as opposed to the men in the sitcom that will be interesting to expose.
