Barstool

So we gotta write about something we recommend to the class, so i picked Barstoolsports.com. It’s a local website/blog/party-thrower that is targeted towards college kids. I’ll give you a heads up, it’s not for everyone. Basically the site is broken into 6 parts. There’s Boston, New York, Phily, Chicago, the U (University) and lastly the Superblog which combines all of them. elprez is in charge, he runs Boston as well. KFC runs New York and is one of the funniest people on the internet. Maurice runs Phily, he’s not funny, same with Neil from Chicago. Kmarko runs BarstoolU he is mostly in charge of throwing parties, F*ckin Foam and Blackouts. Bad news is that not everyone likes them and they’re banned from the city of Boston. Anyway give it a look if you wanna kill some time or see funny stories from around the internet.

Sweet Cupcakes – Anicka Galipeau

It’s always caught my eye. The bright cupcakes sitting in the window, almost calling my name inside. The sugar coated cookies sat in heaps on silver platters, and glazed strawberries rest on top of fluffy, chocolate cakes. The first time I passed it, the doors were locked and all the lights were turned off, hiding the sweets inside. Recently however, the whole shop was brightly lit up, and I could see the assortment of delights, from pink cake pops to cupcakes suffocated by sprinkles. With no money in my pocket, I was forced to disappointedly leave the shop without a taste of the tempting desserts. Even though I have never tried the desserts from “Sweet” I would recommend you at least take the time to see what it has to offer. The vintage feel and ridiculously enticing cupcakes, makes it almost impossible to walk out empty handed!

“Sweet Cupcakes” is located at49 Massachusetts Avenue Boston, MA 02115

Panda

Japanese restaurant called the Thelonious Monkfish which the cook at 150 said they have amazing sushi.
I have not gone there yet so if you do go please tell me how it is.

Max and Dylans – Amanda

Max and Dylans is a restaurant right across from my building, 10 West. I went there for lunch with my friends and the food is amazing! They are famous for their delicious mac and cheese, and they have six different types of it! I don’t even like mac and cheese and I am obsessed with the proscuitto macaroni and cheese. One of my friends got the buffalo chicken mac and cheese and it was also so yummy. Whether you’re a mac and cheese enthusiast or just looking for a homey restaurant with a good vibe, Max and Dylans is the place to go!

Eddie Asai

Hello my name is Eddie and I am from Tokyo, Japan. Currently I am living at 150 on the 8th floor and you should all visit because there are really chill people here and there is always something to do if you are bored. So if your just looking for a place to have fun you should come over!
I was born in Japan and lived there for eight years then moved to Singapore for eight years then moved back to Japan to finish off high school and came here to Suffolk for college. Also my major is marine biology. I hope we can all get along and make this class a blast unlike the long and boring lectures we all might have.

Also my nickname is Panda

Winsor Dim Sum (Brittney Keophoxay) #2

Winsor Dim Sum was actually a restaurant my friend told me to check out.  I’m still new to the Boston area and I asked her what places she recommended.  The day before classes, she took me out.  I thought it was going to be just like any other Chinese restaurant I’ve been too.  The food is actually REALLY good.  I had really liked the taro bubble tea and the tapioca balls are actually a lot chewier than the ones back home in Providence.   I like to go here from time to time with my friends since Suffolk University is right next to China town.  I highly recommended the steamed buns!  It’s a great place to catch up with friends and eat great food!

The 73 Tremont St Library by Kevin Vega

Most people know or heard of this place but few have stepped in here from the new class of 2016. Honestly I have never been so fascinated by a library in my life, but once i stepped in here, it has literally become my second home. During my free time I am usually in there doing homework and studying for quizzes and other times its also a great spot to take a good nap, or catch up with friends. There 3 floors to this library and it is very spacious with a lot of comfortable places to just sit in and get right to work. Also if you do not have a certain book for class and you need most likely they have that book which they can let you borrow while being at the library. Overall its just a great space to really just get your mind together and well simply just do work! I highly recommend anyone who has trouble focusing or just don’t have a spot to hang out, just come to the library. Especially commuter students like me would enjoy having a suit where they can go in comfortably with no worries just to do work.

Erin Kenna

Hello, I finally figured out how to use this blog thanks to a very kind floor mate. I have an undeclared major but am interested in government and environmental law. I am from Foxborough MA, and am very exited to be living in the city! Foxborough is the home of the Patriots, I live a ten minute drive to the stadium, which creates a lot of inconvenient traffic. The 8th floor of 150 Tremont always has something to do and people to talk to so come and visit us whenever! Right now there are five people doing homework (which means going on facebook until we feel like doing work). See everyone soon!

Isabella Stewart Gardner Mueseum

The Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum is located on the Fenway and consists a variety of art collections from ancient Roman sculptures to contemporary art. A heiress and art enthusiast who traveled across Europe and collected art for over three decades in the 1800’s put her private collection in the museum that anyone can visit today. The building was personally designed with the help of Gardner and is a piece of art in itself. The museum is not only know from its vibrant founder and collection but also for the famous theft in 1990. Three thrives disguised themselves as police officers and stole the works of Rembrandt, Vermeer, and many more priceless pieces. For more information see the attached link and enjoy!
