The Freedom Trail, Erin Kenna

Ever wonder who are those people adorned in Revolutionary era clothing roaming the street of Boston? They’re tour guides! One of the famous tours is known as the Freedom Trail, you know, that red line made up of bricks and paint. They show tourists the historical sites of Boston following the red trail dressed up. Museums, cemeteries, the old city hall, and much more is explored. It is around two and a half miles long and looks like a fun job. So next time you see those people dressed up like they’re about to revolt against the British, you know who they are.

Law Library, Erin Kenna

The library is a great place to study. Yet, during midterms and finals the library at Tremont can get a bit crowded with students. I usually find enough space and quiet to do my work but this time I could not. What was I to do? I heard about the library at the law building on 120 Tremont Street. All you have to do is cross the street to get there. Undergraduates are allowed and I got a lot of work done there. It is located on the top floor of the beautiful law school building. In the building are also some mute courts that are breathtaking. Compared to the district courts they are much nicer! There is more room and less noise so you can get your work done. Visit sometime! href=”https://sites.suffolk.edu/su101solomons/files/2012/12/img_0152.jpg”>

Suffolk food, Erin Kenna

The meal plan at Suffolk University is ridiculous. The amount of money spent and the food you can eat is restricted. This means that if you still have extra money by the end of the year that it goes away, rather it goes to Suffolk. Also, the money on the meal plan can never be converted to “real money” that can be spent on better food (which at this point means anything outside of Suffolk). After about three months of the same quality food I am definitely going to spend money in the many delicious restaurants that Boston has to offer. If anyone has any complaints about the food in Suffolk there are often comment sheets. I have submitted a comment to 150 Tremont about considering adding some more sticky white rice. Guess what? There is now more rice at 150! Feel free to comment if you’re not satisfied with the food or the lack of variety, because sometimes I myself am clearly not please. So do something about it!

Time, Erin Kenna

Due to my busy schedule I feel that I have missed out on many opportunities and events. When I hear about the events going on I am eager to go, but I can’t. I don’t have the time. Some floor mates had a snowball fight and I missed out on that because I did not have the time. Next semester I plan to make time for the many things I want to do. Hopefully, the spring will be full of fun opportunities. Only if I had the time.

Diversity, Erin Kenna

Diversity seems to be a major part of the Suffolk experience. From the different cultures, languages, backgrounds, sexual orientation, personalities, there are many things that keep you interested in your fellow classmates. This diversity is mainly due to the fact that we live in Boston, a city consisting of various people. Meeting people who have different customs from Americans is fascinating and I take this opportunity to learn more about my fellow classmates.

Mock Trail, Erin Kenna

Mock Trial. It’s addicting. It takes up most of my time, around 12 hours per week on practices alone. Then there are the different tournaments that took place over the weekends for five weeks in a row. To make up for this time eating activity I must properly assess my time and manage it accordingly. Class, work, sleep, mock trial, among other things are just some of the things I have to account for when I have to organize my time. Many of my floor mates know that I have come into the building after eleven at night from mock trial. Often, I have to run to the bathroom right away when I get to my floor. It’s not fun. In the end though, the experience of mock trial is worth it.

Erin Kenna

Hello, I finally figured out how to use this blog thanks to a very kind floor mate. I have an undeclared major but am interested in government and environmental law. I am from Foxborough MA, and am very exited to be living in the city! Foxborough is the home of the Patriots, I live a ten minute drive to the stadium, which creates a lot of inconvenient traffic. The 8th floor of 150 Tremont always has something to do and people to talk to so come and visit us whenever! Right now there are five people doing homework (which means going on facebook until we feel like doing work). See everyone soon!

Isabella Stewart Gardner Mueseum

The Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum is located on the Fenway and consists a variety of art collections from ancient Roman sculptures to contemporary art. A heiress and art enthusiast who traveled across Europe and collected art for over three decades in the 1800’s put her private collection in the museum that anyone can visit today. The building was personally designed with the help of Gardner and is a piece of art in itself. The museum is not only know from its vibrant founder and collection but also for the famous theft in 1990. Three thrives disguised themselves as police officers and stole the works of Rembrandt, Vermeer, and many more priceless pieces. For more information see the attached link and enjoy!
