The performer, writer, and teacher Phoebe Potts premiered her one woman show, “Too Fat for China” to sold out performances at the Gloucester Stage Company in 2019. The play was heralded as “poignant, piercing, and hysterically funny” and was a Theater Pick in The Boston Globe. Potts was the 2018 Gloucester Writers Center Storyteller in Residence. The New Yorker cartoonist Roz Chast called Phoebe’s comic book memoir Good Eggs, “sometimes funny, sometimes sad, but always honest, intelligent, and completely involving.” Phoebe is the director of family learning for Temple Ahavat’s Sylvia Cohen Religious School. She is a graduate of Smith College and received her MFA from the Maine College of Art in Portland Maine. She lives in Gloucester Massachusetts.
