What are non-credit courses?

Our non-credit courses and certificates offer you the opportunity to gain skills essential to succeed in today’s workforce. However, they do not count towards college credit.

The skills attained in a non-credit program can be leveraged for an advanced position or lead to a new, potentially more lucrative career path altogether. For employers, the cost of supporting employees in enrolling in a non-credit program is lower than other methods of closing the skills gaps and carries the added benefits of employee retention and rapidly and agilely adjusting to market demands.

Non-credit vs microcredentials?

Non-credit simply means a course or certificate that does not count towards college credit. Microcredentials, as defined by UPCEA, “include certificates, micro-credentials, digital badges, or micro-certificates [and] signal specific competencies, certification, and sometimes licensure.” Microcredentials can be used as building blocks to assemble a skillset for career advancement or change.
