Welcome back Rams! If you’re looking for a spot to hang out and do work between classes, or you’re a commuter student searching for places to spend your downtime on campus, this handy guide has you covered.

Mildred F. Sawyer Library (located on floors 2-4 of 73 Tremont)

Fourth floor is kept silent, and the second and third floors allow chatter. It’s a great place to go to do homework between classes, study with friends, or even just take a break in your busy day. Remember, textbooks are available for use in the library and you can reserve study rooms for group work. There are plenty of outlets at the tables as well to charge up devices. The study rooms are also great for online classes, although try to book them as early as possible, as they go fast.

Moakley Law Library (6th floor of Sargent Hall)

The law library is open to undergraduate and graduate students. Be aware, silent areas are dead quiet, so it’s perfect for students who need a no-noise space. There are plenty of outlets at the tables as well to charge up devices. The Zoom area on the 6th floor is perfect for online class time.

Roemer Plaza (area in front of Samia)

For some sun, the steps of the pavilion are a great spot to take a break (when it’s still warm) and do a little studying before the next class. If you can get a WiFi connection, try taking a class outside!

Fifth Floor of 73 Tremont

Between classes this floor gets loud and busy, but while classes are in session, head here to do some homework at the high tables or (semi) comfortable chairs. There are plenty of outlets spaced throughout the floor to charge up devices as well, and even a printer for last-minute homework. Not the best place for online class, however, as it does become busy.

Your Major Department (located in 73 Tremont)

Many departments have a couple small tables or conference rooms set aside for student and faculty use. Check in with the administration desk at each department and ask about what spaces they have available. These are great for online classes, or a chance to get together with a study group from your classes.

Fifth Floor of Sargent Hall

The Sawyer Business School has lots of study space on the fifth floor of Sargent Hall. There are plenty of tables for individual or group study work spaced around the edges of the floor, as well as the Blue Sky Lounge (to the right off the elevators) and Commons area (adjacent), larger spaces specifically designed for student work. Plug in and take class or study with friends.

Honors Room (room 1023 of 73 Tremont)

Comfy chairs, snacks, computers, printer, etc. are all available to honors students. It’s a great quiet spot away from the library for some serious studying or online class.

Local Cafés (various)

Of course, these aren’t actually any non-Suffolk cafés on campus (although ~Boston is our campus~), but here are a few local cafes you should check out when campus becomes a little too stuffy:
