Podcasts seem to be the latest craze, and everyone has their favorites. There’s a podcast for everything you can think of, from girl talk to television shows to pens, but some definitely get more press than others. Here’s a list of some of the best podcasts you’ve never heard of, but need to check out!

Listen on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Google Play Music, or wherever you get your podcasts. Click the titles to be taken to each podcast’s website.

Psychobabble  Close your eyes and think about what it feels like to be sitting and laughing with your best friend about the most random topics imaginable – that’s exactly what Psychobabble is. Tyler Oakley (remember him?) and Korey Kuhl release weekly episodes of just random chatter, from pop culture to politics to what’s going on in their personal lives. Trust us, it’s worth a listen!

Rob and Akiva Need A Podcast  Looking for a little something different? Rob and Akiva definitely have that. Every week, this crazy podcast spins a wheel of listener submitted ideas and does whatever comes up. From watching a crappy movie, to traversing the (virtual) Oregon Trail, or even playing a game of Family Feud, this podcast has it all. You’ll be sucked into a world of in-jokes, listener participation, frequent guests, and lots of fun overall. And if you don’t enjoy an episode topic, just skip it! Rob and Akiva guarantee that something new will be coming up next week.

Books Unbound  To all our fellow book lovers out there, we have the podcast for you. Each week Raeleen and Ariel (of BookTube fame) talk about what they’re reading, book news, and give really specific recommendations. No matter what your reading taste is, you’ll likely enjoy listening to this podcast and find plenty of potential favorites to look out for. It’s a relaxing listen with the added bonus of adding to your (probably already massive) to-be-read pile.

Mobituaries  This one goes out to all the history and humor lovers! Celebrated comedian Mo Rocca entertains listeners with the stories of figures long-gone in these 30min to 1 hour episodes. From Audrey Hepburn to Thomas Paine, sitcom characters to 19th century Black congressmen, this podcast has something for everyone.

Post Show Recaps  The Mandalorian, Lost, Lovecraft County, Seinfeld, PEN15, Avatar: The Last Airbender – these are some of our favorite shows, and sometimes we can’t get enough (or is that just us?). Post Show Recaps is a podcast network which does episode recaps of your favorite shows and movies, all hosted by fun and knowledgeable people who watch maybe a bit too much TV. Whether you have no one else to talk to about your favorites (see: PEN15), or you want to dissect what the hell is going on in your favorite drama (see: Lost, The Stand), Post Show Recaps has the content for you.

Those Happy Places  Since the world is in lockdown right now, crowded theme parks are the last place we want to be. But fear not – Disney lovers can get all the cheerful theme park content they need with this fun, informative podcast. Those Happy Places focus on the stories and joy behind theme park Rides, Attractions, and Lands; just listening is guaranteed to bring you to a happier place.

Serial  From This American Life comes an award-winning podcast that documents a journalism story over the course of weekly individual episodes. New evidence is revealed, news stories are examined, and you’ll be hooked. It’s true crime and investigative journalism all wrapped up into one impressive package! Okay, you’ve probably heard of this incredibly popular and game-changing podcast, but here’s another reminder to listen – well, the first season anyway.

Honorable Mentions

Doughboys  Two comedians talk about food and chain restaurants. Basically, a guaranteed weekly laugh.

The History Chicks  These two lovely women discuss deservedly famous (and underrated) women from history in this weekly podcast. It’s entertainment and female empowerment all in one hour-long history lesson.

It Feels Like The First Time  Recaps of every episode of Lost, complete with hilarious clips, listener emails, and long tangents. First time watchers don’t be afraid, this recap podcast is spoiler free.

The Purple Rock Podcast  Fans of the long-running reality competition show Survivor (yes, it’s still on) will love this recap podcast. John and Andy (…and others) love the show, hate the fans, and never fail to provide an entertaining episode. Pro tip: check out their website as well for more Survivor content!

Dynamic Banter  Pretty much Psychobabble, but two nerdy (straight) guys who love TV and talking.

I Know, You Don’t Know  Boom, boom, boom, muffins! This podcast is for Psych superfans, as well as anyone who wants to start watching this fantastic show. Each week podcast does a deep dive into recaps of every episode of the show, complete with laughs and analysis. Amanda and Jason are the best duo since Shawn and Gus – you know that’s right.
