BOSTON–In a recent meeting, the Greater Boston Convention and Visitors Bureau launched a new program called 3-2-1 Connect designed to attract event planners to coordinate their event in Boston.
In collaboration with the Boston Convention Marketing Center, 3-2-1 Connect links three hotels, two shopping destinations, and one world-class convention center: the Sheraton Boston, Westin Copley, and Marriot Copley hotels, the Prudential Center and the Shops at Copley Place, and the Hynes Convention Center.
The hotels, shopping galleries and convention center remain constant features of the new program, and all attractions are set under one roof. The main objective of the 3-2-1 Connect meeting was to promote this idea to prospective event planners to make scheduling their conference simple and easy.
There are plenty of 3-2-1 Connect features that appeal to potential planners. Milt Herbert, executive director of the Boston Convention and Marketing Center, spoke about the program with enthusiasm saying there are over 3,000 hotel rooms, two upscale shopping destinations, a variety of restaurants, a climate-controlled environment, and state of the art technology.
The attendees of the meeting included a mixture of staff from the Boston Convention and Marketing Center along with the Greater Boston CVB. The synopsis of the meeting entailed how Boston is a city steeped in history, known for its world class educational institutions, prominent medical facilities, modern innovation and unparalleled accommodations.
Jenny Frazier, the marketing coordinator at the Boston Convention Marketing Center, assisted with the design of the slide show shown in the meeting. “When I put together some of the slides I really began to see how incredible this program is going to be,” said Frazier. “I am constantly thinking about what Boston has to offer and this program highlights those features.”
The meeting gave insight to 3-2-1 Connect and how it will be promoted. Advertising, brochures, direct mail, e-cards, e-newsletters, trade shows, and public relations are just a few of the ways 3-2-1 Connect will hit its target audience.
With a 3-2-1 solution for meeting planners, there is a seamless experience for attendees. Trade communications and event specialist, Amber Brown, said, “The 3-2-1 Connect offers something for everyone. There is shopping, dining, and entertainment all within walking distance. You never even have to step outside!”
Brown was an avid listener during the meeting. She works closely with Herbert along with others in the marketing department to advertise Boston as a renowned city. “I believe the 3-2-1 Connect program is an exclusive way for event planners to bring their meeting to Boston. We are a city of passion and perseverance and we want to enlighten those characteristics for others to see,” Brown said. “I am looking forward to the response 3-2-1 Connect brings in the near future.”
