Boston is filled with a myriad of sightseeing spots due to its long history and many neighborhoods with their distinctive feels. The city is known for its famous walking tour the Freedom Trail which is a culmination of historical landmarks in Boston during the time it was a colony. Another famous trail worth walking is the Black Heritage Trail which illuminates the history of Boston’s 19th century. African American community. It starts at the Boston Common where you visit the Massachusetts State House and the Park Street Church and then head to the Granary Burying Ground. These are all sites near and next to Suffolk and it really shows how the school is located next to so much history. These are only some of the sites found on the Freedom Trail, but it takes about 90 minutes and one can also do a self-guided tour.

There are other must-see places if you feel like walking around the city and exploring the different neighborhoods. Places include the Long Wharf, Faneuil Hall, the North End, Beacon Hill, Fenway Park, Copley Street, Newbury Street, and Commonwealth Avenue Mall. These are all locations that make a nice long walk, but you get to enjoy the architecture and different histories of Boston.

Charles River Esplanade, Public Garden, Boston Common, Cambridge Common, and North Point Park are parks worth visiting. The Emerald Necklace is a group of parks in Boston which consists of the Boston Common and Public Garden. The Emerald Necklace is a park system over seven miles long. They are perfect to enjoy the nice weather as well as getting to enjoy some greenery amid the urban architecture.

Museums to visit:

History

For history one should visit Faneuil Hall, the North End, Beacon Hill, Copley Square, the Boston Tea Party Ships, and downtown. One can find places such as Old North Church, Paul Revere House, Bunker Hill Monument and Museum, Old South Meeting House and the Boston AthenaeumCambridge Historical Tours also offer historical experiences. One of their tours is centered around African American History in Cambridge. These are areas rich in history and have been maintained to preserve the old historical sites.

Shopping

To go shopping in Boston there are countless places. The main hubs would be Newbury Street, Copley Street, Faneuil Hall, downtown Boston, and Prudential Center. There is also Kenmore Square and Harvard Square which are also good places to shop.Harvard Square in particular is known for its live music and performers.  Which creates an entertaining shopping environment. The Beacon Hill downtown is also a nice place to go shopping.
