Logan Airport is in East Boston across the Boston Harbor from downtown Boston. Therefore, shuttle services offered by hotels from the airport are not available. However, this is not an issue since there are many ways to travel to and from Logan Airport.
Terminal A serves Delta and West Jet. Terminal B serves JetBlue, Aer Lingus, Silver, Cape Air and TAP departures. Terminal C serves American, United, Air Canada, Alaska, Spirit, Southwest, and Boutique Air. Terminal E serves all international airlines and international arrivals.
The cheapest way to travel from the airport into downtown Boston is using the MBTA. The MBTA offers the bus service which is called the Silver Line Route SL1. This service is free, and it takes passengers from Logan airport to South Station in Boston, and there gives a free transfer to the red line. It is accessible for the disabled. It runs from 5:30 AM to 12:30 AM every day of the week. It will take about 10-20 minutes.
If you want to use the T then the cost is about $2.75 per ride. The first step is to take the free Massport shuttle buses (Route 22, 33, or 55 heading to MBTA blue line). The Massport Shuttle buses stop at every terminal. They then take you to the airport station in the blue line T. From there purchase the CharlieTicket and access the station platform. The hours it runs are from 6 am to 12:30 am every day of the week.
Taxis are also an option for traveling to and from Logan airport and the cost would range from about $25-$45. The time it takes however is much shorter than public transportation. From Logan airport to Suffolk University it would take about 7 minutes. It is customary to tip 10- 15% of the price in cash to the driver at the end of the ride. Some taxi services are:
- Logan Airport Taxi and Car Service– (617) 997-4777
- Boston Airport Taxis– (617) 499-4888
A popular service people use to travel to and from the airport are ride apps such as Lyft and Uber. Like taxis there are designated areas where one can be picked up and dropped off in the airport. Pickups and drop offs occur in Central Parking. Airport drop-offs between 4- 10 am occur in the lower level terminal curbs except for terminal C.
