One of the most important ways the Center for Teaching and Scholarly Excellence (CTSE) fosters a vibrant culture of teaching and learning at Suffolk is by recognizing outstanding teaching by members of our community. Through our signature award and recognition programs, the CTSE seeks to help Suffolk educators feel appreciated and inspired in their teaching.  

The annual Innovative Teaching Award celebrates an exceptional faculty member—or a collaborative team of faculty—who displays dedication to student engagement and learning by integrating innovative teaching practices into their academic courses. All full-time and part-time faculty who are teaching for-credit courses are eligible for this award. We welcome applications that reflect a broad understanding of innovative teaching. 

Each semester, the CTSE invites students to submit notes of appreciation to instructors who have positively impacted their learning experiences at Suffolk. These appreciations are collected during the last two weeks of the semester and then shared with the faculty members mentioned.
