Statement on Confidentiality

The CTSE is committed to fostering an environment of trust, growth, and innovation in teaching and learning. Our services are voluntary, and we maintain the confidentiality of all individual consultations and interactions, viewing them as formative opportunities for reflection and development.

To ensure transparency, we want to clarify that our practices align with the Ethical Guidelines for Educational Developers developed by the national POD Network in Higher Education:

  • We do not share information about individual consultations or feedback with anyone other than the individual requesting the service.
  • We will not initiate appointments with faculty members at the request of administrators.
  • We do not collect feedback or conduct observations for evaluative purposes.
  • We do not provide evaluations or letters for promotion, tenure, or annual review processes.
  • We do not monitor or evaluate Teaching Assistant or Teaching Fellow performance for departments.

The CTSE may track and report out aggregate statistics about the activities of the Center, but any and all identifying information will be removed.

We cultivate an environment that celebrates teaching and learning and lets educators freely explore pedagogies and reflect on their teaching practices without concern for evaluation or judgment.

Empowering educators. Transforming learning. Together.
