Consultations

A consultation is a one-to-one, confidential meeting between a faculty member and a CTSE team member. It may be held in person or online in Zoom/Teams. Consultations may be initiated by any faculty member who is seeking feedback, inspiration, or research-supported strategies on topics related to teaching and learning. Typically, the CTSE team member gathers initial ideas about the faculty member’s interests and needs and then tailors the session accordingly.

What are common consultation topics?

While the topics listed below represent frequent consultation areas, we're available to discuss any teaching and learning questions or ideas you'd like to explore.

  • Course and syllabus design
  • Teaching modalities (face-to-face, hybrid, online)
  • Teaching strategies
  • Assessment
  • Feedback on teaching
  • Teaching with technology
  • Writing and scholarly activities, including the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning

The CTSE also offers small group and departmental-level consultations for faculty members and program leaders working together in areas such as curriculum design, peer observation of teaching, and technology integration.

How can I request a consultation?

Please email the CTSE (ctse@suffolk.edu) to schedule a consultation.
