Please remember that one-to-one training is available all year long on Blackboard, regardless of your experience level! Perhaps you want to use the plagiarism checker, Safe Assign, for final papers, or use the grade book to return some grades to students. Whatever your mission, we can help! Blackboard Downtime: November 29th

This is an update to previous communications about Blackboard service interruptions. We informed you that Blackboard would be unavailable on Nov. 27th from 1:00am to 4:00am for important maintenance. Blackboard has announced the need to interrupt service for their internal maintenance on Nov. 29th from 1:00am To 7:00am. In order to reduce the number of incidences of service unavailability, we have arranged with Blackboard to interrupt our service ONLY on Nov. 29th. Dec 25th: Blackboard Upgrade & Downtime

In order to complete an important upgrade to our Blackboard system, Blackboard will be unavailable on Dec. 25 from 9:30 a.m. until Dec. 26 at 3:30 a.m.

This upgrade will not only fix some “bugs” in the system but will also provide a new look and some new features. We have been testing the upgraded version of Blackboard with a group of faculty members, all of whom have commented that the new version is not only easier to use, has some great new features, and offers a more contemporary look. Hello All & Welcome to the Fall 2013 semester!

Academic Technology offers many services as well as support and training for faculty interested in using technology to enhance teaching and learning and to improve research. Highlights include Blackboard, blogging, podcasting, online & hybrid pedagogy, designing a flipped classroom, and pedagogical uses of social media and web 2.0 technologies. Please contact your school’s Academic Technology group for more information regarding these services.

Fall 2013 Blackboard 9 Training Schedule
Choose Beginners if you are brand new to Blackboard, and choose Advanced if you would like to learn something new. Seating is limited to 8 per session. You will receive a confirmation email once you have been registered.

Please also remember that training is available all year by appointment if you are not able to attend one of the group sessions, or if you have particular needs that would be better suited in a one-to-one session.
