I still had time to take trips around Korea to Busan, Mokpo, Daegu, and Seoul again. In CLS, I took taekwondo classes, attended a Korean tea ceremony, and acted out a traditional Korean wedding with my scholarship cohort. Now, I’m attending Kansai Gaidai University in Osaka, Japan to intensively study Japanese through the Boren Scholarship. I’m taking a Japanese class, Kanji class, and IR classes focused on democracy in Asia. I’ve made a lot of Japanese friends who show me around. Since I live in a dorm where 50% of students are Japanese.
