Hi, my name is Lena. I’m a senior majoring in Global Business and Marketing. I study abroad in the Spring semester of 2022 in South Korea at Yonsei University. Even though the COVID restriction we’re still active, I had an amazing experience visiting different cities and leaning about their traditions and culture. I got the chance to learn Korean for 4 months which was very helpful when living there.

My name is Ernesto Perez, I am 22 and I’m a rising senior at Suffolk University in the Sawyer Business School. This summer I worked in NYC at JP Morgan as an intern. I was offered a return letter and accepted, so I will be joining the firm full-time after graduation in May 2023. I studied abroad in Madrid, Spain during the spring 2022 semester. Without a doubt best thing I ever did. It showed me the world and allowed me to make many friends and connections.

She was able to travel to 8 other countries while she was abroad, and she loved every second.

My name is Andrea Martinez Merino, I was born and raised in El Salvador, I moved to Boston when I was 15 and have been here ever since. I am a marketing major with a concentration in international marketing, and I transferred to Suffolk Fall 2020. I love going to concerts and I am so happy now that we are able to go back to enjoying live music, I also love coffee and enjoy finding new coffee shops to sit and do work in. I did my study abroad program in Yonsei University, which is located in Seoul, South Korea. This was a mindblowing experience that I truly helped me grow in so many aspects of my life, I met amazing friends and enjoyed so much of the amazing Korean food and culture. I am really excited to be a part of the ambassadors for the study abroad office and I hope I can encourage many more students to take a risk and go to places that are out of their comfort zone.

My name is Lauren Muro-Belandria, I am a part of the CAS honors program and class of 2023, and I am majoring in Politics, Philosophy, and Economics as well as minoring in Women and Gender Studies. I studied abroad Fall semester of 2022 at our Suffolk Madrid Campus. My study abroad experience changed my life because of the places I got to travel to and explore, the people I met, and the experiences I had living in a new country. I am excited to be a Rambassador because I want my peers to be able to study abroad, even if they believe they cannot, and participate in all the amazing experiences that I had the chance to have and develop relationships that last for a lifetime. Studying abroad is a chance to see the world, acquire global and professional skills, and have positive personal development. You learn and open your eyes to different ways of life and develop more empathy for others. For the longest time, I did not think I would be able to study abroad because of financial burdens. However, with the help of the study abroad staff, I got exposed to scholarship and grant opportunities such as the Gilman Scholarship, that would help fund my study abroad experience. The Gilman Scholarship helped me fulfill my long-time goal of studying abroad and allowed me to experience the best, most memorable, and most meaningful times of my college career and life.
