Lena Le

Hi, my name is Lena. I’m a senior majoring in Global Business and Marketing. I study abroad in the Spring semester of 2022 in South Korea at Yonsei University. Even though the COVID restriction we’re still active, I had an amazing experience visiting different cities and leaning about their traditions and culture. I got the chance to learn Korean for 4 months which was very helpful when living there.

 

 

 


Ernesto Perez

My name is Ernesto Perez, I am 22 and I’m a rising senior at Suffolk University in the Sawyer Business School. This summer I worked in NYC at JP Morgan as an intern. I was offered a return letter and accepted, so I will be joining the firm full-time after graduation in May 2023. I studied abroad in Madrid, Spain during the spring 2022 semester. Without a doubt best thing I ever did. It showed me the world and allowed me to make many friends and connections.

I’m currently a senior at Suffolk studying Global Business and Management. I have studied abroad twice during my time at Suffolk, in Madrid, and then in London. My semester in Madrid made me realize how much I love to travel and that I would like it to be a part of my career after college. In London, I was able to travel a lot while also meeting many international students. I loved my time abroad as I had the opportunity to travel around Europe and meet a lot of amazing people.

I am currently a junior pursuing a management major and a minor in arts administration. I am from upstate New York. I studied in Madrid Spain this past Spring semester and will always be grateful for the experiences and opportunities I was exposed to and was able to grow with. I gained different perspectives and knowledge while living in a different society with a different culture and lifestyle. My experience further expanded my appreciation and willingness to adapt to different ways of life.

My name is Sarah Lopez and I had the opportunity to study abroad during the Fall 2021 semester in Florence, Italy and am currently studying abroad in Prague, Czech Republic. Studying abroad changed my life in many ways. First, it showed me new
perspectives and introduced me to new cultures. I was able to meet new friends who I will have for a lifetime from all over the world. And lastly, I was able to gain an enormous amount of independence from such an experience that I will forever cherish.

I’m a junior double majoring in Spanish and Sociology at Suffolk. I’ve spent the majority of my college career so far abroad in Madrid, starting there as a freshman and staying through my sophomore year. Studying in Madrid and being on my own for so long changed my life and taught me so much. I learned so much about myself, my interests, what I want to do with my life, and the kind of life I want to live. I felt at home in Madrid and I wouldn’t change any of it.

I am a Global Cultural Studies major and a Women’s and Gender Studies minor, currently in my third year at Suffolk. The first two years of my Suffolk career I spent in Madrid. During my time in Madrid, I was an orientation leader, part of the newspaper, and co-founder of the Spanish immersion club. My time abroad allowed me to become more independent, and confident, and overall helped me grow as a person and student.

Grace is a senior studying Public Relations. She is the managing editor and co-social media manager of The Suffolk Journal. She studied abroad in Madrid in spring 2022. Studying abroad had always been a dream of Grace’s, and it was the most amazing experience. It opened up her life to dozens of different cultures and once-in-a-lifetime experiences. She was able to travel to 8 other countries while she was abroad, and she loved every second.

When my friends ask me “How was studying abroad??” I always end up sharing different stories and reasons why it was the best decision I could’ve made! From feeling completely free to explore the country however I wanted, and making friends from Indonesia to France, I learned so much about myself and the world that I would never change it for the world!

I studied in Madrid, I loved this experience and I was lucky to have many of my friends to enjoy it with. I am quite an adventurous person, but I like to balance that with my strong work ethic. I would say my study abroad changed my life in the aspect I know how I want to live, my first living experience abroad without my family has taught me the importance of constant learning and my love for learning about other cultures, and how much richer my life is because of this.

I’m a Law & IR major who loves to learn about other countries and wants to work in American diplomatic relations. I studied abroad in Seoul, South Korea which was a huge culture shock my entire time. Seoul is a city with a perfect blend of everything from cities, history, beaches in Busan, mountains, and forests, & to great restaurants and cafe culture. From the people I met I learned life is not a straight line with steps and you get the best results just by following your passions confidently.

Hi all! My name is Madelyn Birtwell, I am class of 2023 at Suffolk and a biology major with a psychology minor 🙂 I love to travel which is why I went to Glasgow, Scotland in the Fall of 2021. My name is Kian McCabe and I am a junior at Suffolk University. I studied aboard at the Suffolk University Madrid Campus in Madrid, Spain in the spring of 2022. I am very thankful for the opportunity to study aboard. During my time I got to travel to 10 different countries, meet amazing people, and immerse myself in both my Suffolk and the local community. It has changed my view on the world and my aspirations for my future. I am forever grateful.

Andrea Martinez Merino

My name is Andrea Martinez Merino, I was born and raised in El Salvador, I moved to Boston when I was 15 and have been here ever since. I am a marketing major with a concentration in international marketing, I transferred to Suffolk Fall 2020. I love going to concerts and I am so happy now that we are able to go back to enjoying live music, I also love coffee and enjoy finding new coffee shops to sit and do work in. I did my study abroad program in Yonsei University, which is located in Seoul, South Korea. This was a mindblowing experience that I truly helped me grow in so many aspects of my life, I met amazing friends and enjoyed so much of the amazing Korean food and culture. I am really excited to be a part of the ambassadors for the study abroad office and I hope I can encourage many more students to take a risk and go to places that are out of their comfort zone.
