Where did you complete your undergraduate degree and what is your degree in? BBA in Finance, Operations Management, and Investment, 2010. I am graduating from the MBA/Health program in 2 weeks.
Are you studying full time or part time? I work full time and am a full-time student.
Do you have work experience? If so, where/what: I have 6 years of experience in healthcare operations and administration. My experience ranges from entry-level on the front lines, to a current role as Administrator for BWH Comprehensive Orthopedic & Spine Centers.
Why did you choose to get your MBA? Suffolk offers the MBA/Health program which is perfect for me. I have been able to build on my background education and interest in the study of business with a Masters tailored to the healthcare sector, where I work – all while gaining real work experience during the day in one of the best cities for health care in the world. The opportunity to apply classroom lessons learned at work in almost real time is one of the greatest assets toward personal and professional growth one can realize.
What is your ultimate career goal? 2 things: To be an expert in my field, and to always do fulfilling work.
What has been your favorite part of your graduate experience at Suffolk so far? The opportunity to get to know people from all over the country and the world who are here to better themselves and to build lasting careers. While the classroom lessons have tremendous value, the relationships are the most lasting and memorable aspect of studying here.
What advice would you give to incoming SBS grad students? Prioritize experience over money when you get started. If you find what you love and become great at what you do, you will be valuable to employers in the long term. There is no class you can take to gain experience and to find happiness.
