Academic Affairs Committee

The mission of the Academic Affairs Committee is to make the SULS educational environment more inclusive for students from all backgrounds, abilities, and learning styles. This year, the Committee plans to focus on gaining representation on faculty and hiring committees to better represent the student body’s concerns– specifically regarding the hybrid education model during COVID-19 and racial injustice.

Alumni Affairs Committee

The purpose of the Alumni Affairs Committee is to facilitate, foster, and maintain a great relationship between SULS students and alumni. This Committee’s goal and commitment is to help law students connect with alumni and find networking opportunities.

Appropriations Committee

The Appropriations Committee plays a major role in allocating funding to the various SULS student organizations. The Appropriations Committee reviews all requests for funding and makes recommendations to the SBA Board of Governors (BOG) who affirm, reject, or modify those recommendations before finalization.

Diversity & Inclusion Committee

The mission of the Diversity & Inclusion Committee is to cultivate a more inclusive SULS community that embraces and celebrates our differences. The Diversity & Inclusion Committee’s events aim to provide a positive and supportive environment to connect students and faculty to the growing legal community.

Graduation Committee

The Graduation Committee is responsible for organizing events for Grad Week and electing the Student Speaker for commencement. Any student can serve on this committee regardless of graduating year.

Social Affairs Committee

The Social Affairs Committee is responsible for hosting various social activities for the benefit of the student body, offering an opportunity to celebrate and build connections with one another.

SBA Liaisons

 The Honor Board Liaison (HBL) represents the Honor Boards on the BOG, and reports on the activities and undertakings of the SBA back to the Honor Boards. The HBL will utilize the SBA to provide information to students.

Honor Board Liaison: Marie MacCune (3LD)

The Liaison to the American Bar Association/Law Student Division (ABA/LSD) is a voting member of the BOG. They are responsible for: (1) promoting membership within the ABA, and (2) engaging their peers in the various benefits and resources of the ABA. The ABA/LSD Liaison is the voice of SULS in the ABA/LSD. This Liaison works with both the BBA and MBA liaisons in order to coordinate efforts to best serve the student body.

ABA/LSD: Mia Bonardi (2LD)

The Liaison to the Massachusetts Bar Association (MBA) informs the BOG and student body of upcoming events, networking opportunities, various benefits, and law student membership options for the MBA. This Liaison works with both the ABA/LSD and BBA liaisons in order to coordinate efforts to best serve the student body. 

MBA: Tim Jenis (2LD) 

The Liaison to the Boston Bar Association (BBA) informs the BOG and student body of upcoming events, networking opportunities, various benefits, and law student membership options for the BBA. This Liaison works with both the ABA/LSD and MBA liaisons in order to coordinate efforts to best serve the student body.
