Student Bar Association

The Student Bar Association (SBA) was established by students, for students. The purpose of the SBA is to act in the interest and for the benefit of its members, the student body. The SBA sponsors programs and activities of academic, professional, and social nature.

Constitution & Bylaws

We, the students of Suffolk University Law School (SULS), in order to support and encourage academic excellence and professional development; to preserve the right of students to acquire a quality legal education in a just and reasonable environment; to provide a means of advocacy and communication between students and the law school; and to maintain a connection with alumni, do hereby establish this Constitution for the Student Bar Association of Suffolk University Law School.

SBA must have a strong foundation in order to support clubs and the student body. Community building is key!

COMMUNITY BUILDING

BETWEEN DAY AND EVENING STUDENTS
  • Ensuring that all programs are accessible to evening students, and ensuring that evening students are informed of the ways to participate
  • Improve networking between day and evening students
BETWEEN UNDERGRAD AND GRADUATE CAMPUS
  • Undergraduate students frequently visit graduate campus. Our goal is to foster a relationship with the undergraduate student body.
  • Work with Deans Office and Library to ensure study spaces can only be reserved by law students during certain periods.
  • Work with Dining Hall to ensure food security for law students
BETWEEN AFFINITY GROUPS AND SBA
  • Validate the importance of Diversity & Inclusion by making SBA’s Diversity Week events all CLE (Continued Legal Education) eligible
  • Provide greater support to increase the platform for Affinity Group concerns
  • Foster relationship between Faculty and SBA Diversity & Inclusion committees

Any student enrolled at Suffolk University Law School is automatically a member upon payment of the annual dues, included in the tuition bill. Each year law students are interviewed by the executive board to be appointed onto the Student Bar Association.
