The battle with COVID – 19

When I am thinking about current situation in the word, I can’t stop going around the question “How do we win this battle?”

COVID -19 hit United States mid-March 2020 and was raging across the country ever since. It started as two weeks of self-isolation and it turned into 4 months lock down with enormous amount of death, but also lots of job loss.

After such a long period of quarantine, the country started slowly reopening, which is understandable. To keep the engine running we need petrol. There’s no product without labor, no money without product and, basically, no money without money. The more you spend the more you make.  If the situation remains the way it was in the last couple of months, the country might eventually lose the ability of printing money and there will be no tax and no safety backup in case of a second wave or other unpredictable circumstances.

As simply as this we all need to go back to work and put ourselves into the front line of the battle with COVID -19, where we are mercilessly losing.

 

 

If you go to whitehouse.com and click on “opening America again” you’ll see responsibilities and recommendations have been put together in a guidance to all, who live on the territory of the United States, such as “Wash your hands with soap, avoid touching your face, sneeze into tissue” etc. Even kids in nurseries know it by now. Nevertheless, the virus keeps spreading and the country keeps reopening state by state to save the economy. Such a resonance in modern society which leads to a bigger conflict and turns into political, not only medical issue. Reading all the news from The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, checking official government website and also social media I see, that we all have an understanding of the problem, we have a straight recommendation to solve the problem, but Covid-19 is still here.

In this case we need to unite and fight with the enemy altogether. “The United States could get the spread of the novel coronavirus “under control” within a matter of weeks if everyone wore face coverings, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Director Robert Redfield said for Washington Post July 15th. “I think if we could get everybody to wear a mask right now, I think in four, six, eight weeks we could bring this epidemic under control,” is his quote as well.

Maybe this time we have to have an honest conversation with ourselves and accept the fact that we all are responsible for the future and each of us is an important part of making a serious decision for a whole country and each other, whether this is a wise vote during election, washing your hands or covering your face with the mask. We are in this together.
