It is well known that the pandemic caused by COVID-19 had caused  millions of people to be stuck at home. While some take this as an opportunity to reflect on themselves, spend time with close family, or even spend it with a new furry friend.

This time isn’t so great for all of us. Staying inside for some people is not as easy as it looks. Some people fear staying indoors. What is the main reason you ask? Because the cold hard truth is, abuse.

I’m the United States alone more than 12 million women and men in America are abused and experience IPV, intimate partner violence, a year. With that said who really knows what is happening behind doors during COVID-19.

Organizations such as SAMHSA are still trying to make it known that resources are just as available during the pandemic, in hopes that less if not all cases can be addressed.

However, not only are abuse and IPV cases expected and are rising in the United States. Japan also had talked about there rise in cases as well as the change of behaviors quarantine had created for some.

With this in mind you may ask,  what will happen next? Well that is up to you. Making awareness, reaching out to love ones, and providing support is the best thing for everyone. However if you know someone dealing with abuse please due reach out and be there for them however they need you to be.
