The Coronavirus Isn’t Leaving, Here’s Why.

Through our recent pandemic, I’ve witnessed a number of problems with today’s society that haven’t been yet addressed. Each day the number in cases of the Coronavirus seems to decrease but grow at least twice as high as it did the day before, while the death rate just continues to increase because no one is realizing the critical condition we live in and how it may be the new normal. We watch the news and see how our world as we know it is falling apart but we never take the authority. It shouldn’t have to just be the government’s fault for the pandemic but ourselves as well. As of today, there are 20,678 confirmed cases within Suffolk county and even 114,320 cases in Massachusetts alone with a number of 8,468 deaths following. The United States is firstly known to be one of the richest countries in the world and the government only sees ways to be stronger and continue to build until their number one, mainly our “president” who tries to enforce the required guidelines for how to slow down the Coronavirus but still refuses to wear a face mask. In “Pandemic Disease Is a Threat to National Security”, written by Lisa Monaco, she originally writes how our president prior, Barack Obama, was in control and tried to prepare the United States for any future pandemics or diseases while making it a top priority. Trump in my opinion has no control whatsoever, which is another reason why we as citizens take the government as a joke. He only seems to glimpse in his spotlight by ignoring actual topics that may be beneficial for the longevity of what’s left of the United States. He has no respect and will eventually kill us all making the pandemic to be the scratch of the surface and because we don’t see a leader who can listen who can fix our problems, there’s no trust. How can one confide in someone with our life if we’re not given the full details of what the government could be planning next? Which leads into why I see citizens as a bigger issue for the future because they don’t realize the risks they take when they don’t wear a mask, and I mean a mask that stays on their face, nose to chin. According to, “Wearing a mask has become politicized. Science says it shouldn’t be.” Written by Akshay Syal, “The new coronavirus is spread by respiratory droplets when an infected person coughs, sneezes or talks. If not blocked by a face covering, the droplets are thought to travel about 6 feet through the air.” People may see it as ridiculous, but I don’t see why this information is being spread out and why the government isn’t putting more restrictions on those who don’t wear one because clearly what they’re doing now is only putting a dent in what we NEED to end.
