Tickets can be purchased online by visiting our ticketing page.

Tickets are available to purchase in-person at the Modern Theatre box office on the day of the event, subject to availability. We accept cash and credit cards.

The Modern Theatre box office is open one hour prior to the event’s start time.

If an event is sold out, you can add your name to the waitlist. Waitlist tickets are released ten minutes prior to the event’s start time, on a first-come, first-served basis.

When you arrive at the theatre, please visit the box office in the lobby and give the first and last name on your ticket to check in.

Please bring a printed copy of your ticket or have a screenshot of your ticket saved on your phone in case the box office staff cannot locate your ticket by name. If you purchased tickets for someone else, please let them know to give your name at the box office to check in.

The Modern Theatre lobby opens one hour prior to the event’s start time. All tickets that have not been claimed will be released to the waitlist ten minutes prior to the event’s start time. 

Please arrive at the theatre no less than 15 minutes prior to the performance’s start time and check in before your tickets are released.

If you know you will be late, please call the Modern Theatre at (617) 557-6537 or email boxoffice@suffolk.edu to ensure that your tickets are not released to the waitlist.

Late seating will be permitted during appropriate breaks in the event, at the front of house manager’s discretion. Please arrive on time, no less than 15 minutes before the event’s start time.

We encourage you to leave valuables, large bags, and other personal belongings at home. There is no coat check or bag check at the theatre, and prohibited items will not be stored on site by venue management.

Outside food and beverages are not allowed and need to be consumed in the lobby or disposed of before entering the theatre.

Prohibited items are any items deemed inappropriate by exhibit security or venue management.
These include:
• Outside food and beverages, including restaurant to-go bags
• Large bags, backpacks, luggage, and duffle bags
• Cameras and tripods
• Vapes and e-cigarettes
• Bikes, helmets, skateboards, Heelys, rollerblades, and non-mobility aid scooters
• Weapons of any type

Phones are permitted inside the theatre but must be turned off or silenced and left in your pocket or bag during the event.

Pictures and video recording are not permitted during the event. You may take pictures in the lobby, or in the theatre before or after the event.
