They were able to develop a plan so they could quantify its energy use to put this plan in action and make this the nation’s first electric grid neutral dealer . This reduces the CO2 emissions resulting from the generation of electricity by the nation’s electric grid. As it has been mentioned in chapters one through four, CO2 is one of the most important greenhouse gasses that contributes to global climate change. This reduces their net grid electricity to zero, or it reduces the electricity consumption to a really low number. The way Rossi Honda did it, he ” installed a 223kW solar PV system that generated 90% of its total electricity consumption from solar energy. Then he replaced the metal halide lamps on its parking lot light poles with LED lamps, reducing its energy consumption by 22%. After the lighting upgrade, the solar PV system now generates over 100% of the dealership annual electricity use, achieving Rossi’ s goal of Electric Grid Neutral.” Then after a while Rossi saw a decrease in his utility bills and thats how he realized that what he was doing was working.
