Iceland’s Geothermal Energy Use:

• Geothermal power facilities currently generate 25% of the country’s total electricity production in Iceland. Geothermal energy is used for space heating in Iceland and it’s generating electricity with geothermal energy keeps increasing.
  Since 2011 about 84% of our primary energy use in Iceland came from renewable resources and 66% was from geothermal.
• To generate electricity with geothermal in Iceland’s energy the demand for electricity has increased considerably, with the capacity of the geothermal power plants through Iceland’s Energy industry.
• The country’s heat and hot water demand with geothermal energy and electricity is supplied by the geothermal power. Geothermal power is cheap in Iceland and the reasoning it keeps increasing, because they are still recovering form a massive financial crisis. Since 2008, and people of Iceland are not quite sure whether they like the country’s rich geothermal resources being exported. They would rather see the resources kept within the country’s borders says (hafa gooan dag).
