Although these cars are expensive to buy, they are inexpensive to maintain. no more need for gas stations with this vehicle, it runs strictly on electricity all you need to do is find a plug. a full charge for these cars costs only a few dollars opposed to the high prices of gas. Tesla’s electric cars run on electricity so there is no emissions what so ever and is the best vehicle on the market for the environment. Today there are major developments with the Tesla Electric car. The developing battery only costs about 100$ per kilowatt. The CEO of the company, Elon Musk, is planning to build a giant factory to make batteries that would cost 5$ billion dollars. On the other hand Fisker Automotive is also a company out of California. Fisker creates plug in hybrid electric vehicles. These cars use rechargeable batteries much like Tesla’s vehicles. They also have an electric motor and an internal combustion engine plus a plug to connect to the electricity and recharge the battery. Unfortunately, the Fisker company is not doing so hot. in 2012 they stopped production due to bankruptcy. Tesla and Fisker companies are in law suits, Tesla claims Fisker stole some of its technology and used it for their Karma car. Though the law suit ended in Fisker’s favor in 2009, since then the company has needed countless loans and government assistance to keep up with Tesla’s successful company.
