Residential Design Studio | Second Year
This project challenged us to create a space that could be used as a live and work environment coherently. My design reflects the life of a couple, Lucie and Ryan, two chefs who offer cooking classes within their home. I designed two types of spaces, public to their guests and private for themselves, all while making the two flow and live within each other rather than creating divides. This resulted in typical house features while incorporating commercial aspects, such as a kitchen that can hold multiple people for their classes. The live and work space is located on Newbury Street in Boston. This gave me the opportunity to use exposed brick throughout the building which created the basis of my overall fixtures and materials planning throughout the space.
