Intermediate Interior Design | Third Year Abroad Semester

While studying abroad in Florence Italy, I took a design course which gave me the opportunity to try out hospitality design by creating a Hostel. I learned a lot about how to design in a place that has such private, intimate spaces and largely public spaces, at the same time. I paired up with my friend, Savannah Dodge to create the Florence Hostel. While we both planned out the space and Italian concept together, Savannah took on the entrance, lobby and cafe areas as I focused on the bad and different types of hotel rooms. We tried to stick to materials found in Italy, and more specifically Florence when we could. Since Italy is such a big travel destination, we focused on creating spaces that are ideal for quick, easy and comfortable visits.
