For over thirty years, not only did the Catholic Archdiocese of Boston know of priests molesting children, the Church actively sought to conceal the molestation by moving the abusive priests from parish to parish. In one instance, the Church knew of over 130 complaints against a particular priest, but the diocese continued to transfer him in an attempt to diffuse the situation. Even though the Boston Archdiocese is currently the focal point of the scandal, Boston is not the only archdiocese subject to scrutiny. Plaintiffs are initiating complaints against clergy members in numerous jurisdictions across the United States. In bringing the claims, the plaintiffs usually attempt to implicate not only the priest, but the church as well. . . .
