Sandro Carella’s Construction Documents recently class visited proprietor Sal DiGirolamo’s Wild Duck Wine and Spirits — a retail space that Sandro is designing in Boston’s Chinatown neighborhood.
BFA student Daniela Galindo-Patete is the winner of the 2015 IIDA NE Education Fund Student Scholarship! She and two other local students are recipients of a $1200 scholarship — congrats Daniela!

Here are a few photos of the The Council for Interior Design Accreditation (CIDA) student work display earlier this month. Projects and models from all Interior Design courses were on display, along with some foundation work. Congrats to everyone for a great re-accreditation visit!
On Friday, March 9th, NESAD celebrated their #3 Ranking among “America’s Top 10 Interior Design Schools” for 2012 at both the graduate and undergraduate levels. Among the high honorary is also Karen Clarke, co-director of the University’s Interior Design program who was named one of DesignIntelligence’s “25 Most Admired Educators of 2012“.
During the event, Michael also spoke about his experiences after NESAD and where he is now. Michael has worked at one of the New York’s top residential design firms, Alan Tanksley, Inc. where he gained tremendous respect for his craftsmanship and unique taste. He also established himself at one of the nations top ten hospitality design firms, BBGM. A few years ago, Michael has been seen on national television when he entered HGTV Season 5 Design Star and placed second. He was also designer and host of Clean House New York where his design skills were put to the test. Currently, Michael runs a flexible design studio called Michael Moeller Designwhere he uses his inventive aesthetics and applies them to each space he designs.
A very big Thank You to Elaine Soo Hoo at Steelcase for the generous donation to make the event possible and Jordan Cogswell, NESAD Interior Design Program Coordinator, for managing the event and making it a memorable night for everyone.

DesignIntelligence magazine has named The New England School of Art & Design at Suffolk University #3 among “America’s Top 10 Interior Design Schools” for 2012 at both the graduate and undergraduate levels.
NESAD SU undergraduate program ranked #3 overall, tied with Pratt Institute, University of Cincinnati, the University of Florida, and the BAC, while the graduate program ranked #3 to tie with Pratt Institute. In this year’s two skills assessment categories, NESAD SU ranked 2nd in Communication and 3rd in Cross-Disciplinary Teamwork (with Auburn University).
Karen Clarke, co-director of the Interior Design program, was also named one of Design Intelligence’s “25 Most Admired Educators” of 2012.
The University is very honored for these awards and is celebrating this achievement on Friday, March 9, 2012 at Montage.

One of our very own instructors, Debra Folz, was featured in “New England Home’s 5 Under 40” for her beautiful custom carpet design. The carpet was produced by Landry & Arcari and was auctioned off at an event where the proceeds went to Barakat, Inc.
