Award-winning author Juliet Grames visited Olivia Kate Cerrone’s SF1185 “The Socially-Conscious Storyteller” class on December 5th, 2022, to discuss her historical novel The Seven or Eight Deaths of Stella Fortuna, which involves themes of patriarchal oppression, trauma, immigration and women’s rights. Grames gave a compelling and interactive PowerPoint presentation, discussing her research and inspiration for the book. Students enjoyed a lovely Q&A discussion with the author, focused on their interpretation of the novel’s socially-conscious themes.
