Combine one (or more) from each category:
Grain, cooked:
- Brown rice is usual in my kitchen
- Quinoa, usually boring, is good here
- Buckwheat
- Bulgur wheat
- Any leftover rice, pasta, couscous, oatmeal
Vegetables:
- Chopped organic celery
- Grated or chopped organic carrot
- Frozen chopped organic spinach
- Chopped organic romaine
- Any leftover vegetables you have- be creative
- Herb: Chopped dill
- Chopped parsley
- Any fresh herb you have- mint, basil, etc
Nut/seed:
- Chopped walnuts
- Chopped pecans
- Chopped raw cashews
- Slivered almonds
- Pumpkin seeds
- Sunflower seeds
- Whatever you have
Fruits
- Chopped olives- your favorite kind
- Raisins- your favorite kind
- Dried cherries
- Dried cranberries
- Any fresh or dried leftover fruit, chopped
Vinegar
- Spectrum naturals seasoned brown rice vinegar
- Sushi vinegar
- Any favorite vinegar you have
Oil
- Your best olive oil
- Small amount sesame oil for an Asian flavor
- Any other oil you like
Add in this order, but proportions are up to you. You should be able to empty the fridge and have a portable, satisfying, nutritious meal that everyone will love and that will be different every time.
