Robots !

Last week  our class was given the task of creating a robot that that moved to the specifications of the program that you gave it.

First Time:

  • Time (seconds): 2 seconds
  • Pow
    er: 42
  • Rotations: 1.65

Second Time:

  • Time (seconds): 2 seconds
  • Power: 42
  • Rotations: 1.66

First Time:

  • Time (seconds): 3 seconds
  • Power: 30
  • Rotations: 1.55

The program used to make the robot move is, labview is a basic program to send code for the robot to interpret. The program is simple in the way that everything is given in icons and the code is automatically generated. The project consisted a lot about learning new skill and applying it quickly to something newly learned. I believe that doing this lab it gave me a better understand what really goes into building vary sophisticated robots when building only small scale brought up so many problems.

This lab gave us a opportunity to look at robotics behind the scenes and actually work with a group of people to not only build a basic robot but also to make it function and move.

Germany’s Green Energy

Germany has one of the worlds first and major renewable energy economies. Thanks to this Germany was able to to create more then 370,000 new jobs within the renewable energy sector. In 2010 603 TWH of energy where created by renewable energy sources. thats more then 17% of all energy in Germany.

This was not easy to do. Renweable energy does not just happen. Everyone alwasy whant to contribute and help out but no one ever does anything about it. Germany as stated previously has one of the first reneawble energy economys. This title didint come free. Actualy it came with a price tab of about 26 billion euros ! That is how much Germany has invested in 2010 to fund their renewable enery program.

Germany has much to be proud of when bringing up renewable energy. In early 1997 Countries within the European union have been working on reaching a goal of 12% renewable energy somewhere within the 2010year mark. Germany has passed this mark in 2007. It doesn’t stop their Germany is also the 3 largest user of wind power in the world. This itself is huge because as the world sets new standard for energy countries have to keep to it, Germany is meeting and exceeding expectations.

However, Germany does not expect to stop their. they have raised the bar and want to push their renewable energy program even further. Studies show that Germany is planing to have a renewable energy percentage of 18% by 2020 and 30% by 2030. putting other countries far back then Germany. But this will only happen if Germany stick to their plan and if other Countries start doing the same from themselves.
