ABOUT THIS SESSION:

In this interactive session we will talk about how we designed for equity in a government setting. We will anchor in shared language, identify equity principles, and share how we embody equity work in a government setting. We will focus on the establishment and functions of the Equity Council, the initiatives undertaken, and the impact of these initiatives in fostering equity within the organization and the broader community. Participants will leave with tangible tools and techniques for how to form, sustain, and practice equity in the workplace. This session is designed for a general audience seeking to implement equity-focused strategies in their own organizations that are sustainable and embody equity principles such as: inclusivity, anti-racism, joy, authentic relationships & collective wisdom.

Our presentation will showcase the progress made in addressing identified problems of practice and the outcomes achieved through the council’s efforts. We will emphasize the importance of collaboration, inclusivity, and sustainability in advancing equity within government entities. Attendees will gain valuable insights into implementing a top-down & bottom-up approach to advancing equity in their organizations.
