spoken unless of scared events so the people came up with other names to call God.
Mohammad did his presentation on the Palistine nation. There were three distinct perios the Gree, Jewish, And the Roman time period.
He linked all three period toghther and how there were three calandars. Anne talked about the woman in the Bible and how they played in most cases minute
or secondary roles to men.
Waleska did a great job in desribing how the text of the bible can be confusing.
As most of the Bible was hand written it got confusing as translations were written. The different versions of the same story was also interesting
and how all are different in some aspect. Bernice presented on how the bible was translated. She explained how the original writings do not exist anymore and this makes it hard to
prove theorys and storys. That in some cases the aithors or translators out in thier own thoughts dilluting the original.
The presentation of the Pentatuch by Nicollette was very interesting.
The part of the bible authors in some cases not known was fascinating as I think that was always known.
I fel my presentation was a little lacking in depth of overall locations of the Bible.
Elisa’a Presentation was exellant. i give her credit for being the first one and setting the bar for the rest of us.
Her presentaion aids where good and she presented Joshua in a clear mwell thoughtout manner.
Joshua son of Nun and Moses’s successor
As she pointed out the book was mostly of the military campaigns to conquer the land of God and how it was subsequently split up.
I have enjoyed the presentation so far. They have been interesting and the presenters did a good job summarizing their chapters. I think Nicolette’s was especially good and brought up the discussion on who really wrote some of the books of the Bible. The discussion that followed was in line with what my thoughts were concerning the subject. I have often wondered why there were four Gospels that for the most part repeat the stories and life of Jesus. With the introduction of the time line of the Gospels by James Carroll was also intriguing to me. Why are the gospels not in chronological order by date written? Also how accurate are the stories since there is a good time line between writings. Was there more word of mouth and non-accurate accounts of the stories as they were passed from one person to another? It makes sense to me that the original writer did not combine the stories and print one Gospel
The Gospel of Mark appears to be written in Rome around A.D. 64. It chronicles the teaching of Jesus Christ to the Christians in Rome and Italy. The Gospel gives the reader the impression that Christ was the son of God, the same God from the Old Testament (Mark references the Hebrew bible in many passages). Through the use of teachings and miracles of healing Jesus begins to create a new religion that is still going strong today. Because change is not readily accepted by most people this new religion was meet with strong opposition. Jesus endures criticism and skepticism as being the son of God. In the end he will pay the ultimate sacrifice and die for the new religion. Mark who is not mentioned in the Gospel is the author who chronicles Jesus and how he spreads the message of the beginnings of Christianity. While leaving the foundation of the new church to the disciples (followers of Jesus) to build upon and pass along to the new church leaders of future generations. The story is a good one with miracles, death, betrayal, and drama.
