Psalms: 30-36 Questions

  • The place know as Sheol is mentioned in Psalm 30.3 I know that Jews do not believe in a “hell” per se, but what exactly is this place, and where else is it mentioned in the Old Testament. I am very curious about this.
  • On the right hand margin of Psalm 32, the word Selah is written a number of times. There wasn’t anything in the commentary below the page and I wanted to know what is means and stands for. I know in Hebrew, the word means a stone or rock, but i’m not sure how this really fits into the psalm..
  • In psalm 34.6 does “this poor soul” refer to David? From the description of the psalm, it talks about him. I just wanted to make certain if the quote was talking about him, or any general poor soul.
  • In psalm 33.10 what is “the counsel of the nations?”

Thats about it for now, any help would be appreciated 🙂
