Suffolk University Gallery is pleased to present POSTGIG, an exhibit curated by Clif Stoltze, founder and creative director of Stoltze Design Group, a leading Boston-based design agency. Seventy-five original concert posters from the modern music period make up the exhibit, echoing Stoltze’s passion for music, as a designer and musician.

The exhibit features work by some renown concert poster artists and design studios, including Modern Dog, Aesthetic Apparatus, Patent Pending, The Small Stakes, Seripop, Stereotype and Hammerpress. The eclectic collection includes posters for shows by a wide variety of artists  including Sonic Youth, Neko Case, the Decemberists, Bon Iver, Yo La Tengo, Calexico, The National, Beck, Feist, Mogwai, Mission of Burma, and the Shins.

Clif Stoltze has taught at Rhode Island School of Design and Massachusetts College of Art and Design, and lectures at schools and design organizations around the country.  In 2014, Clif served as the Koopman Distinguished Chair in Hartford Art School’s Visual Communication Design Department. He has served as AIGA Boston vice president and was honored as the recipient of their 2005 Fellow Award. Clif’s book 1000 Music Graphics was published by Rockport in May of 2008.
