Grand Opening of the Center for Career Equity, Development & Success

Career-readiness is at the core of Suffolk’s mission. Starting this fall, alumni and students will have access to a new hub for career development just footsteps from some of Boston’s top employers. Join President Marisa Kelly and members of our Suffolk community as we open the doors to the new Center for Career Equity, Development & Success.

Health Law at the Supreme Court: A Review and Preview

Join us at Suffolk Law or online for an in-depth discussion of the centrality of healthcare in the national conversation by a panel of distinguished health law practitioners and academics.  Beyond the Dobbs decision, panelists will discuss the Court’s docket of cases addressing Medicaid and COVID-19 – and the implications of other decisions on public health.

Our panelists bring expertise from the federal government, private practice, in-house counsel roles, and academia.

View a screening of the new documentary film, Truth Tellers, by acclaimed filmmaker Richard Kane. Truth Tellers chronicles the lives of courageous Americans fighting for peace, racial equity, environmental justice and indigenous rights through the eyes of Robert Shetterly, a long-​time activist and artist. Through following Shetterly’s visits to individuals and communities across the nation, Truth Tellers explores his journey to inspire and empower Americans to emulate his “models of courageous citizenship.” Immediately following the film, there will be a discussion with the film’s subject Robert Shetterly.

Equity Community Quilt
11:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Sawyer Building, 6th Floor, 8 Ashburton Place

The Gees Bend Quilt Collective is renowned for their remarkable quilting traditions going back to their ancestors. Our Equity Community Quilt will be a Suffolk community project taking place 10/12 – 10/24. All are welcome to come together to create a quilt that signifies the common goals of equity and inclusion Suffolk holds so dear.  During Suffolk Weekend, stop by the Suffolk University Art Gallery and contribute a fabric square to our project, supplies are provided and no sewing experience necessary!

No registration is required for this event.

Ghosts and Gravestones Bus Tour* – FULL

Pick-up and drop-off at Roemer Plaza, next to the Samia Academic Center, 20 Somerset Street
Cost: $25

Walk amongst the dead in burying grounds nearly four hundred years old, hear stories of those whose mortal remains lie beneath your feet, and listen to tales of many of the sordid practices that went along with them.

Boston Common and Public Garden Walking Tour – FULL

Meet at the Robert Gould Shaw Memorial on Beacon Street, across the State House (note, this is a new meeting location)

Suffolk students will lead you on a History Walking-Tour throughout the Boston Public Garden and Boston Common. Enjoy the fall foliage of the Common and Garden as well as the sights of our historic downtown campus. 

Black Heritage Trail Tour – FULL
12:00 – 1:30 PM
Meet at the Robert Gould Shaw Memorial on Beacon Street, across the State House

 Join National Park Ranger Shawn Quigley, BS’14 for a 90-minute walking tour of the Black Heritage Trail in Boston.

Rammy’s Cornhole Tournament*
1:00 – 3:00 PM
Roemer Plaza, Samia Academic Center, 20 Somerset Street
Cost: $10 Players; Spectators: Free

Join President Marisa Kelly for Rammy’s inaugural Cornhole Tournament! $10 per player with all proceeds benefiting the Suffolk CARES Pantry. The Pantry provides food and necessary products to Suffolk students in need. Play for a chance to win a Suffolk branded cornhole board or come by to watch the action while enjoying light refreshments and music by Suffolk Free Radio.
